As we come to the end of October, I wish to highlight some upcoming events in the life of our church.

This week we conclude our series, “A Movement for Wholeness” celebrating God’s gift of community and our call to be stewards of it. In worship, we will hear from members of our faith community and mission partners on what this stewardship looks like. Additionally this week is commitment Sunday when we receive commitments of intention (of both time and finances) that participants in our congregation hope to give toward the ministry of First Christian Church in 2022.

We will begin November with the observance of All Saints Sunday on Sunday, November 7. In worship that day, we will honor the lives of those in our faith community who have died since our last All Saints celebration and invite you to send a picture or name of a loved one to be included on our remembrance table in worship.

The CROP Walk will also take place on November 7, and we encourage you to sign up as a walker or a sponsor. You will find more information on that in our newsletter.

On the evening of November 21, we will participate in an interfaith Thanksgiving service at Congregation Anshei Israel along with Presbyterian, UCC, and Episcopalian faith siblings.

November is also Native American Heritage month, and our weekly Beloved Community section in the email will offer resources for learning and celebrating.

I look forward to the days ahead as we expand our in-person gatherings and continue to grow in our spiritual life to Seek God, Love Like Jesus, and Serve the World.

Blessings,
